This training is for occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other registered health professionals working with adults and children (OVER 4 YEARS of age) with neurological and developmental conditions to learn the CO-OP Approach.

Presented by

Dr Hortensia Gimeno, Clinical Reader in Child Health Research, Barts Bone and Joint Health, Queen Mary University of London and Associate Director for Therapies Research, Barts Health NHS Trust, NIHR Advanced Fellow.

Dr Gimeno is an occupational therapist and active researcher with a background in acute and community paediatrics.

Guest trainer Dr Sara McEwen (Regional Research and Evaluation Lead, North East Specialized Geriatric Centre; Affiliate Scientist, Health Sciences North Research Instititute; and Independent Health Research & Education Consultant, Canada) has a background in physiotherapy and research, and has focused on developing and evaluating combined cognitive and motor interventions for people living with stroke and cancer, as well as implementing and evaluating interventions and programs.

Anne Corbett MSc DipCOT has over 25 years experience as a children's occupational therapist in independent practice; as an NHS manager of community therapy services and is director of Learning2Practice (L2P London ltd).

Dates & Times

Running on-line on the mornings of 21 (8.30 am - 1.00 pm; 22 & 23 (9.00 am - 1.00 pm) of January 2025, with a follow-up consolidation session on the 8 May, 2025.

Running on 9/10 June (9.00 am - 4.00 pm) consolidation sessions will be held on 22 and 23rd October 2025

The second stage is a consolidation day occurs 3/4 months post the foundation training course. After practicing CO-OP in your own clinical setting, you will return to join a small group half-day session to present a case study, discuss successes and challenges with implementing CO-OP, and have an opportunity for further practice of the areas presenting the greatest challenge
