Who is this course is for

This online event is designed to provide therapists with the up‑to‑date information they need when assessing for, and writing, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in the context of the evolving SEND reforms. Aimed at physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists working in education or with children and young people with SEND, this event is a must‑attend.

In a changing policy and commissioning landscape, therapists are increasingly expected to evidence need clearly, recommend provision lawfully, and articulate outcomes that will stand up to scrutiny across Annual Reviews, mediation and Tribunals. This session will help you understand what the reforms mean in practice for your role and day‑to‑day decision‑making.

Our expert speaker will support you to write EHCP and Tribunal reports with confidence, covering topics such as:

  • Understanding the SEND legal framework and the current SEND reforms

  • Planning and completing appropriate assessments in school and community contexts

  • Translating assessment into clear, specific, and legally robust descriptions of need

  • Writing meaningful, measurable outcomes that drive provision

  • Navigating common points of tension between families, schools, health and local authorities

Join us to build your knowledge, confidence and professional resilience in the new SEND landscape.
